Located on a 24 acre site at the north edge of Worthington, the 98,000 square foot facility accommodates courts, county attorney, county and city law enforcement, a detention facility for 97 adults and, in a separate “pod,” 24 juveniles.  Of particular importance in the design of the building was the need to provide appropriate separation between public and staff and between prisoners of various classifications.  Approached through a central lobby, a series of public corridors provides convenient public access to all functions, while staff corridors beyond allow separation and security where necessary.
