Rosemount Fire Station

More then a decade after designing Rosemount’s Fire Station 1, VJA was invited back to design a second station to serve the city’s east side. With an area of 12,700 square feet, the facility includes a large apparatus bay with a storage mezzanine, watch room, lockers, and a multi-purpose meeting room. Outside, the brick and stucco building is enhanced by metal canopies, sun shades and a back-lit clock tower. A challenge presented to the design team was the design of site circulation to promote the easy and safe movement of emergency vehicles.
